Field Director

The field director is a walkie-talkie wearing counselor who manages the field activities. He usually lives in a cabin close to the field, like Buzzard's Roost or Eagle's Nest. One of his jobs is to decide on Evening Activity every night.

The first field director was Ron Mattson in 1989. In an effort to bring some authority, organization and safety to the hilltop, the most responsible, usually oldest counselor on the hilltop is given the title of field director for the year.
