Every cabin goes on two camping trips during the summer, one first session and one second session. In [[lower camp]] two cabins go on a trip together but in [[upper camp]] cabins go on their own trips. Another difference in upper camp is that cabins usually go one one canoing trip and one hiking trip, while in lower camp cabins usually just do hiking trips. All trips are lead by a [[trip leader]], either a stand in or an official trip leader who only leads trips for the whole summer.

Birch Rock seeks to provide a challenging and quality camp program both on campus and in the woods of Maine and New Hampshire. Our Certified Trip Staff consider the challenge of the outdoors one of the milestones of each camper's summer experience. Trips in the woods, on the lakes or through the hills and valleys of our region are all carefully designed and planned. Each camper is required to take part in one or two overnight adventures. All trips are designed for campers of specific age and ability levels.
