The story of Sparkplug the pig as told by Nat Weeks.
+
All of the profiles below are based on interviews by campers in the summer of 2012. Thank you to all friends of the Birch Rock Historical Society.

“…Once a week, I’d wash the pig. Sitting in the meadow, one hand would press on his back as he straddled my thighs so the other could dip into the soapy bucket to scrub him pink as the clover around us. He didn’t like that and raised a ruckus but to no avail. His stubby feet couldn’t reach the ground in that position and on my wet, nylon bathing suit found no traction in spite of his galloping.

* In 1983, Upper Camp, which was just Eagle's and Buzzard's, had a massive toga party involving bug juice and sweets, but more importantly music and good times.

* There is a "Upper Camp Quad" with a fire pit and wooden seats (usually birch stumps) located in the middle between Owl's, Buzzard's, and Eagle's. This area was constructed in 2000 by the Art program when it was run by [[Ryno]].

After the summer of '94, the [[Lodge]] was jacked and had the patio area torn away.  Then it was placed back down on a new cement foundation.  This marked a new chapter for Birch Rock.  Since then Birch Rock's numbers and support has grown.  This was a pivotal moment for modern day Birch Rock.
* [[Owl's Perch]] is the newest cabin in Upper Camp, [[Eagle's Nest]] is the oldest cabin, and [[Uncle Tom's Cabin]] no longer exists but was in the location of [[Pete's Palace]] and is almost completely forgotten about.

* A checker board was carved into the very large stump downhill of Owl's in 2000 by [[Thomas Joyce]]; the tree that stood there can be seen in old photos of Upper Camp.
