Enter the name of the article you want to go to in the search box on the left and press the go button (or hit enter). You will be brought to the article with that title if there is one. If there is no article with that name you can see the article title matches and the page text matches for that phrase to maybe find what you need.

If you press the search button you will go directly do the page text matches and article title matches of the phrase you search for. Even if there is a page with the phrase you searched for its title you will not go to it.

To go to the [[Special:Search|advanced search]] page put nothing or gibberish (anything you know will turn up no results) in the search box and click either button. You will be brought to a page with the advanced search stuff at the bottom of it. Now you can check boxes to search for articles in [[Help:Namespaces|namespaces]] besides the main namespace with the phrase you are looking for in them. The advanced search options are at the bottom of any search page.
