Brad Smith was recruited from Bridgton Academy to be [[Director]] of Birch Rock Camp from 1993‒1995.  This was a transitional time for the camp as it made its way back to glory.  Brad brought his great coaching experience to the camp and the staff responded by delivering a great combination of old camp traditions and a new way.  Brad was known for his eloquent speeches and a steady hand on the tiller.

Brad's right hand man in both 1993 and 1995 was Rich Deering.  Rich acted as Brad's Assistant Director and helped Brad get caught up quickly on the way Birch Rock operates day to day.  Brad also worked closely with his Head Counselors Josh Church and Mike Mattson.
  
 
For many summers after he moved on, Brad would return during staff orientation week and line our baseball field for us.  It was a great way for him to stay connected and check in with the staff that worked for him during the '93-95 summers.

Brad Smith was recruited from Bridgton Academy to be Director of Birch Rock Camp from 1993‒1995. This was a transitional time for the camp as it made its way back to glory.
