The Hot Cereal Federation

Thomas Joyce as the famous Captain Cream-Of-Wheat gives his signature salute

The Hot Cereal Federation was a skit that Mike Mattson & Josh Pincus put together as a staff Campfire skit. The script consisted of six paragraphs describing each of the six scenes. The staff were expected to improv the majority of the skit. The improv was so well done that it ended up being one of the best skits that summer. In one scene, for example, Thomas Joyce improvs a salute that started out as a "Heil Hitler-like" salute and was quickly corrected with a surprise and a smile from Thomas.

Scene 2 involved a trip to the Federartion headquarters to meet with the Federation preident. When Josh Pincus came onto the stage as the President, the rest of the staff on stage (who hadn't seen his outfit yet) just lost it laughing and giggling and barely made it through the scene. In the final scene, during the ship to ship combat, Jamie Grantham and a sock puppet report damage from the engine room. This report was prerecorded down in the utility area of the lodge earlier on Saturday and then was played through the TV as a report from the engine room to the bridge.
