Help the Other Fellow

For over 80 years, these words have set the tone for what we do at Birch Rock. "Help the Other Fellow" is the camp's motto. It is posted on a large plaque in the south corner of the lodge. Our motto may have been inspired by the that of Camp Dudley, “The Other Fellow First." Dudley is the oldest summer camp in the United States<ref>http://campdudley.org/camp-dudley/fast-facts/</ref>; it had been in existence for forty summers by the time Birch Rock was founded.
