Deneault's Den 2007, Ryan with recently planted King Crimson Maple

Deneault's Den is a staff cabin in the woods above the camper swim tent and Injun Joe's. The building replaced Rat's Nest and is named in honor of Mike and Phyllis Deneault, former directors of Birch Rock who lived in Rat's Nest for many summers, one of which with their newborn child. Deneault's Den was built in 2006 by the staff and CITs. The design of the new cabin was stylized to resemble a larger version of the original cabin and was painted brown to mimic the split wood planks on the outside of the old cabin. There is a plaque on the inside dedicating the cabin to the Deneaults.
