This is the person(s) responsible for the overall summer. The job includes signing up campers, hiring staff, maintenance, accounting, budgeting, training, payroll, etc. From 1926 to 1972 this was the role of one of the original founders, William "Chief" Brewster. There have been a number of great people since Chief who have held the Director position and most continue to stay in touch with the Birch Rock community for life.
