Help:Namespaces

A namespace is like a category but it is much broader. Every page on Birocapedia has a namespace which you can see in the first tab at the top of the page. This page's namespace is help. Namespaces help separate articles so you can search for them more easily. For instance, normal articles about Birch Rock are in the default main namespace. All other pages like the special pages and help pages are not in the main namespace so you need to specify if you want to search for them. To make a page in a certain namespace make the name have the namespace and a colon behind it like this: Category:Swimming. That would become a page in the namespace Category with the name Swimming, aka a swimming category. Below is a list of all of the namespaces.

• (Main) - Articles in the main namespace are ones about Birch Rock, the topic of this site. These articles will not have the namespace in their title because it is the default namespace.
• Talk - The namespace of the discussion pages for all articles.
• User - User pages
• User talk - User comment pages
• Birocapedia - Articles about Birocapedia
• Birocapedia talk - Talk pages for articles about Birocapedia
• Image - The pages of uploaded images
• Image talk - The discussion pages of uploaded images
• Help - Help pages
• Help talk - Discussions of help pages
• Category - Category pages
• Category talk - Category discussion pages
