Sailing is one of the oldest activities at camp, with pictures of sailboats on Lake McWain dating to the earliest years of camp. Sailing today is run out of the boat house.
After many years of sailing on a couple of old lasers and sunfish, Birch Rock purchased new CFJ boats in 2002. The CFJs are supplemented by lasers and sunfish still, and many of those boats have been replaced or upgraded in recent years.
The badges for sailing are the deckhand, midshipman, and skipper.
