General swim is a time when campers go down to the lake to swim. Every camper needs to do it once a day. If you are in lower camp you do it in the morning and if you are in upper camp you go in the afternoon. you can go to both but you do not have to. On Sundays there is only one general swim but the whole camp goes to it and both cradles are used, the muck cradle and the clean one. The cradles are the two swim areas used for general swim and for younger kids during instructional swim. The cat walks go out from the shore in a T shape and the cradles are the two spaces under the top of the T. On the right there is the clean cradle that is used for most general swims and on the left there is the muck cradle that is mostly only used on sundays when they need the extra space. It is called the muck cradle because there is a thick layer of muck covering part of the cradle below the water. The muck mostly consists of partially decomposed leaves and water plants. General swim varies in length. If it is really nice out it will be long but if it is cold and cloudy it will be short.
