It was another Saturday dinner when the staff realized they didn't have a skit yet. The staff in those years were all about improv so all you really needed was a general theme. Campfire was going to be outside over in the old rifle range turned outdoor theatre. Mike Mattson and Justin Ingold adventured over to the range and started throughing out adventure ideas. Justin started to talk about an obnoxiously happy Robin Hood, you know just really really happy and within a minute, like a lightbulb, Mike said Robin Hood and His Morose Men. It was perfect. We told the staff the title and told them to arrive with the appropriate outfit. There was no script.
Justin was really peppy and everyone else was lazy and complaining. Justin led them all through the audience and up and down the back walls of the range and such helping his men and being positive. The men were just plain grumpy with just precious improv. Chuck Hatcher played Little John and Brian and Mike kept mumbling and groaning, "he's not very little," everytime they had to help Chuck up the hill and such. It was like a Monty Python type of skit.
